For those individuals who already have a basic background in refrigeration and air conditioning, this newly revised course covers heat pump fundamentals, components, applications, installation and service. Heat gain and heat loss calculations are included, as are troubleshooting guides for both the electrical and refrigeration systems.

R410A -

This supplemental training is to be used with and requires knowledge of basic mechanical refrigeration. Review the current EPA Section 608 regulations as is applies to R410A, its properties, safe handling, service and troubleshooting.

The ECM (Electronically Commutated Motor) is an ultra high efficiency programmable brushless DC motor utilizing a permanent magnet rotor and a built-in inverter used on most high efficiency appliances today. Venting Gas Appliances-

Because of the many dangers related to acidic condensate, the sizing of gas vents is extremely critical for Category 1 type gas appliances. Based on the IFGC 2006, the course will focus on proper vent sizing, connectors and natural draft for category 1 appliances.

Thermostatic Expansion Valves are a controlling device for regulating the flow of volatile refrigerant into a cooling unit, actuated by changes in cooling unit pressure and superheat of the refrigerant leaving the cooling unit. This course will provide a practical experience in connecting, charging, servicing equipment as well as proper safety procedures.
